Biography

Since he was little, Michael has always been interested by speed and by everything that has 4 wheels…

On February 17th, 1999 at 6 years old, he started Indoor Karting Payerne, Switzerland.

After a few Outdoor competition seasons in a local club, he first started in the Mini-Karting category (60 cc).

For the 2003 season, Michael raced in that Mini-Karting category within the KCR club, and continued in the Supermini (still 60 cc) category in 2004 and 2005 within the GSKarting (Gianni Sava Karting – Echandens) Team.

For the 2006 season, Michael is a Corse (Corse The Kart Company) factory driver in the Junior category (100cm3).

Engine of 100 cm3 instead of 60 and 20 hp instead of 7. So, almost three times more powerful…

In August 2006, Michael, at the age of 14, was successfully initiated in driving a Formula Ford Zetec of 145 hp. 

In 2007, as in 2006, Michael participates in Karting in the Swiss Championship and the Bridgestone Championship in the Junior category. Motor 125cm3 limited at 14’000 rpm.

In parallel with his Karting races, Michael, at the age of 15, successfully participated in July and October, in the selection of drivers for the BMW American Championship with a Formula BMW of 140 hp.

Michael, at the age of 15, received his FIA license together with his BMW Driver’s license in order to participate in the 2008 Championship. 

After 8 years of high level Karting competition, Michael is done with the kart driver apprenticeship and it is time for a single-seater:

– trainings in Formula Ford: 145 hp – Max speed 240 km/h (~150 mph). 

– tests in Formula BMW: 140 hp – Max speed 230 km/h (~143 mph).

In 2010, at the age of 18, Michael wins the Formula BWM Lista Junior Championship with style (5 wins in 12 races and 8 podiums) and becomes the 2010 Champion of Switzerland Open wheel / Single seater racing cars.

His target: to become a professional race driver…
